I'm trying to take a quiet moment to read my @nigellalawson Christmas book, but Henry Cat feels that this interferes with his strokes quota, and keeps insinuating himself between me and the book. And then knocking my phone out of my hand when I try to get an instagrammable photo. 🙄 Honestly, cats. #saturdaycaturday #christmasfeels
Thank you to the lovely @foxgloveslondonjewellery for donating these BEAUTIFUL silver and pearl acorn earrings to the school Christmas Fair raffle, and to my lovely daughter for winning them and giving them to her mummy! #handmadejewellery #luckyme #luckymummy #lovelydaughter #schoolchristmasfair #whereistheacornemoji
When you have friends coming round for Sunday lunch so you buy posh buffalo mozzarella to make a salad for starter. And then you forget all about it because you just don't really do starters. And then you realise its Use By date is today, and it is just too damn cold for salads, but a sneaky Tuesday night pizza would really hit the spot. #homemadepizza #pizzatuesday #idontdostarters
Gorgeous afternoon eating pizza at @sodopizzalondon and then going to see Frozen 2 with my girls. Best. Disney. Film. Ever. We all cried and laughed a lot. And I walked home discussing colonialism, restorative justice and feminist and anti-feminist tropes in film with my 10yo. The 4yo just wanted to get her Elsa dress on and start freezing things. ❄️❄️❄️ #frozen2 #mygirls #being4 #being10 #sisterhood
My 10yo and her best friend are writing a school magazine, totally of their own volition. For the November issue they create a new recipe - lemon and poppyseed Remembrance cupcakes. 😍 #being10 #juniorbakers #remembrance #kidswhobake
This is not only the least glam photo you will see in your feed today, it is also a wireless printer that I successfully purchased and installed. Which is big! Bigger than it should be given that I'm 38 years old and an allegedly functioning adult. But here's the thing: I have been with my husband since we were 18; we met the week after I left home to go to uni. We learnt to adult together. And, simply because he had his own computer when we were students and I didn't (yes, I am *that* old - I handwrote my 2000 word weekly tutorial essays!), anything computer related just became his job once we had our own home. And somehow it has stayed that way ever since. But last week our temperamental printer pushed me over the limit, and I decided to order a new one. And it arrived. And I didn't wait for my husband to get home to sort it out, I just did it. There were some tears. And quite a lot of @bachoriginaluk Rescue Remedy. And it took all morning. But I did it. Oh, and yes, for those of you wondering. The printer *does* live on top of the tumble drier, next to the router, in the cupboard under the stairs. That is the reality of freelance mum life in a 3 bedroom Victorian terrace. #freelancewriter #freelencemum #ibloodydidit #instareality #rescueremedyrocks
