This little sausage was awake half the night with ‘nasty coughes’ and had a temperature this morning, so no nursery for her today. She fell asleep on my lap mid marathon Mr Men reading session, and then I actually managed to slide her off and she actually stayed asleep! And slept for 2.5 hours solid. I am a little bit obsessed with crocuses. In fact with all these early spring flowers - primroses, snowdrops, daffodils. The thing is, they’re not actually ‘spring’ flowers, are they? They’re winter flowers. We’re only part way through February. But their vibrant, hope-filled colours and silky petals and air of unquenchable optimism make us think of spring and new life and renewal, even if the trees are bare and there’s frost on the ground and the evenings are still dark.
