I popped the teepee up in the garden, along with the other bits and bobs I have put out for the homeschool play area, and Henry Cat instantly made himself right at home! There were some tears today, but some wins as well. Including these lovely #rainbows to go in our window. One of the pieces of work school set for the 11yo was to create a positive propaganda poster, and she came up with this rainbow theme 'We're all in it together. Just two metres apart.' And they both worked on a rainbow collage out of cut up magazines. 🌈🌈🌈 And then at 3.15 I had a mini breakdown and told my WAH husband that he had to take over for a bit as I was broken. My Mother's Day afternoon tea, courtesy of my 11yo. Smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwiches, egg and cress sandwiches (husband made these), dark chocolate and sour cherry scones, and the piéce de résistance, home-made chocolate profiteroles. The girl done good. Very good. Happy Mother's Day to all those mamas holding things together for their children in very uncertain times, and to those who couldn't be with their children because of social distancing, and love to everyone who finds Mother's Day difficult for one reason or another. #mother'sday2020 #juniorbaker #lovelydaughter #loveinthetimeofcorona
Not the most beautiful photo you will see this morning in one sense, but in another it might just be. This is the result of an urgent appeal by our school PTA to collect food to hand out to 115 families in the school community who will be hit hard by their children not attending school. Despite the difficulty in getting supplies now, and the fact that half of us are in self-isolation, the response was incredible. Love and kindness and generosity are alive and well. #covid19 #helpeachother #goodnewsstory
