I had to have a pneumonia vaccine this morning, and for some reason I totally blacked out immediately afterwards. One minute I was saying to the pharmacist 'I feel a bit faint...' and the next thing I knew I was lying on the floor! They phoned my husband to come and get me, and he brought me home, tucked me up in bed, did a very rainy school run and is now attempting to finish his day's work from home whilst supervising the children and making tea. He's a good 'un. I still feel a bit woozy and nauseous when I move, so have decided the best thing to do is stay in bed for now. For my health, you understand. Meanwhile my 5yo has made me a get well card, and brought me up a pile of her picture books to read and one of her teddies to cuddle. The back of the card has a list of her favourite memories of me - 'playing games, having cuddles, doing painting'. ♥️ She's a good 'un too. #luckymummy #luckymama #myfamily #unplannedduvetday

My 5yo told me this morning that she doesn't believe in magic (except Santa, she hastened to add!). I felt a bit deflated, which must have showed in my face, because she added 'but even though magic isn't real, love is, and that's the important thing', and of course she is absolutely right. So on that note of wisdom I would like to wish you all a truly magical Christmas. I am going to do a social media detox again for the Christmas holidays so that my family get the best of me with no distractions, and I'll be back on 7th Jan. #happychristmas2019 #loveismagic #love #beingfive
Today has been totally lovely and utterly exhausting. This morning I went with my youngest's Reception class to see 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' at @stratford_circus , which was gorgeously done, and 4 and 5yo children are just so damn cute. And their teachers are so damn amazing. Then this afternoon it was my eldest's final primary school carol concert at @stmaryswalthamstow , so *all* the feels for that. Especially when they sang 'Silent Night' in Welsh as a tribute to their (Welsh) headteacher who is leaving next term. Am now physically and emotionally wrung out, and trying to imitate Henry Cat by spending as much of the evening as possible chilling on the sofa. #classtrip #receptiontrip #schoolcarols #mumlife #christmasfeels #christmas2019 #tabbycatsofinstagram
Came home from the school run to find that my publisher @hodderbooks have sent me this Norwegian edition of my first novel, 'Two For Joy'. It is very strange, and slightly awe-inspiring, to see my words translated into a language I don't speak a single word of to be sold in a country I have never seen!
